Surprisingly Easy Ways to Improve Your Concentration While Studying
When you are preparing for an exam, there are lots of things that can distract you. It can be stress, gadgets, work (if you are a working professional) or many other factors.
Concentration is the most important catalyst for success in any competitive exam. Here are some simple tricks that would help you concentrate better while you are studying.
1. Organize Your Tasks.
First of all, list down everything you have to do during your day. Also, include works other than studying. Now set your priorities. The tasks that get higher priorities must be done first. This is how you can manage your time effectively.
This way, you won’t be distracted by the things that are less important to you and which can be neglected for now. Organizing your tasks will help you focus on crucial things like studying.
2. Practice Meditation.
Meditation is the scientifically proven way to channelize your senses. It helps your stay mentally stable and healthy. Omkar is the most effective exercise when it comes to improving concentration. Its sound creates vibrations and slows down the mind and stimulate the inactive centers of the brains.
Early morning is the best time to practice meditation and Omkar. It’s hard to sit for a long time in the beginning. Start with 5 minutes and gradually increase the time.
3. Train your mind to stay away all the distractions.
Cut down the distractions right at the source. Make up your mind and stick to your decisions. Tell yourself that you won’t use your phone, laptop or television until you are done with your study-routine. Switch them off.
Eliminate all the distractions that might deviate your concentration. ‘Just one text’ or ‘Just 5 minutes’ never work. You will end up wasting a lot of time.
4. Use ‘Counting down’ trick.

5. Take breaks and get refreshed.
Our brains function effectively only for 40-45 minutes straight. It needs to take some time out to re-energise itself. So, don’t cram for 4-5 hours even when you are feeling tired.
Take 15 minutes break after every 45 minutes or one hour. It will help you improve your concentration and sharpen your memory. So take breaks and come back refreshed to study even more!
6. Eat enough and healthy food.
Last but not the least! You must eat enough food. If your stomach is empty, it will growl while you are studying. It will surely disturb your concentration. And it’s scientifically proven that our brain doesn’t work well when we are very hungry.
So, don’t skip your breakfast, lunch or dinner. But eat healthy food only. If you eat heavy junk food, it will make you lethargic and sleepy. It’s very important to follow a healthy diet to improve your concentration while
